After being presented with a $300 bill, I was informed that my car has a number of urgent issues that are a safety concern and need to be addressed immediately. To my question “why was this not addressed today” I was told that today is a half-day for NRMA Padstow and they therefore prefer letting an unsafe vehicle drive out of their workshop. I was told there were some issues with my car that might  need to be addressed at my next service last time I was at NRMA Padstow 6 months ago, but not receiving a phone call earlier in the day indicated to me that these issues were not urgent and that there was nothing to be addressed immediately. Any safety issues discovered during a service must be communicated to the customer immediately. The clerk was also rude and refused to understand why this standard of service is unacceptable and simply could not wrap his head around why I did not want to re-book my car at NRMA Padstow but rather go somewhere else. This is unacceptable treatment of your customers and I will not be returning again.

There is something funny about NRMA MoterServe and I wont be going back, this is the second time I have been with 2 different cars, they always seem to find leaks that were never there before, this time it was a leak in the Shock Absorber and I would need my water pump replaced and it was also leaking, they also said that my window tinting was too dark and would not pass pink slip, first I told them the tinting was factory installed when new 7 years ago and had passed every inspection since, then he went away and confirmed that the tinting is OK ?? I then went on to tell him that last week I just got a 100 point safety check from NRMA which cost $300 how was these leaks not identified then ? He had no answer, I simply dont believe them and after reading reviews online about NRMA MotorServe I will not go back, even the free car wash was not done correctly with marks everywhere, I wont be going back I just dont trust the NRMA anymore

The front office guy, Leo, was very helpful. I was surprised when I got a call around 10 a.m. to say that my car was ready for collection, when the original time given was 1 p.m. When I gave the car for service, it was a bit dirty. When I got it back, it was very clean. Thanks.

Well, several factors should be highlighted here, firstly, I am a very fussy car owner, and am always concerned regarding how my vehicle is treated when not directly in my care. Also, this was the first service outside the dealer network, I was nervous!
I was resigned to eventually going outside the dealer, because of the cost and also the way the dealer took me (and my car) for granted. I have 6 months of warranty coverage remaining, and wanted to get an outside inspection done before the final service is due. 
I have had no specific problems with the car, so I was confident the service would be trouble free. Wrong!
When I returned to the workshop to collect my car, I noticed it was still up on the hoist, but nobody around it. As I looked in, the business owner came over and introduced himself, a pleasant chap, I thought.
He asked me to take a look at a COUPLE of things he has noticed, and wanted me to see for myself. 1 - one of the front struts was leaking badly, he estimated that most of the oil had escaped by this stage, the strut, dust cover and brake lines had all been covered in oil, and dripping, (I checked my garage floor, and yes, there was evidence of a small oil leak, for some time (soaked into the concrete!)) and 
2 - of the two protection plates fitted under the engine, one forward of the other, the front one was only partially attached, and the rear one was totally missing! I was totally surprised, the previous service was done at the authorized dealer! It was obvious that the plate had been removed and not replaced.
Tell me, how can I, or anybody else, have confidence in the work done at the dealer when this sort of oversight can happen? I'm now glad, very glad, I went elsewhere to get this service, for an independent review of the vehicle condition.
I then called the original dealer to get the faults attended to, they were not in the least concerned, and offered their next available slot to get an inspection. AN INSPECTION!, then they will order parts.  That means I will have to take two days off work to get this fixed!
I'll be taking my car back to my newfound service establishment when this work is done, just to check they did it right!
Are there no independent inspections at the dealer when a vehicle is service complete, just to avoid this sort of thing? (A v/quick lookover would have spotted the missing panels, at least!)
I love the car (with the possible exception of the park brake system), but the experience has been somewhat soured by these oversights.
Jeep Australia needs to know about such events, and I'm not confident the dealer will advise.
Do with this info as you will, I will be discussing these incidents with the service manager this week, when I get the ïnspection".
